What Causes Lukewarmness??

What causes a church or person on fire for Jesus to become lukewarm?

Scriptures Used During Today’s Video: Revelation 3:14-22 , Judges 21:25, Hebrews 12:5

What is the cause of lukewarmness in the church? Jesus in His infinite wisdom leaves this important fact out but rather goes to describing what He sees. The church of Laodicea is the church that wanted to be in charge of their own lives, yet they didn’t want to let go of their religious beliefs. The conviction of their sin was blocked by their pride and a refusal to walk under the discipline of the Lord. This is what caused a church on fire to become lukewarm.

When we’re in charge of our lives, Jesus will leave, He’ll be on the outside looking in. You won’t see Him leave because you’ll be stricken blind. This is such an incredibly painful revelation (i.e. the revelation of our lukewarmness). Jesus calls us at this place in great tenderness to be zealous (be boiling over) and to repent (once for all, and to do it now).

If we’re willing to do this, I believe that revival will sweep through this land. If not, we’re going to be vomited out as has been the case through time. Please humble your heart and take time to listen to this simple message and call from the Holy Spirit.

The song from Honeytree lays out the sweetness of Jesus’ call in the midst of our apostasy. (Please note an error I made in the video. All of the things that Jesus saw, including blindness, apparently happened at one time.)
